Sweet Potato is a highly digestible nutritive carbohydrate, whose natural sugars provide energy with a low glycemic index. Dietary fibre helps to support good digestive health, resulting in a happy dog, full of energy and zest for life. Carrots are commonly used in dog food to improve dental health and promote healthy eyesight. They are also efficient in the relief of constipation.

Pumpkin is remedial for both constipation and diarrhoea, as well as supporting heart health. Pumpkin is rich in Vitamin A and is a well known source of the antioxidant beta-carotene, which can help vision, skin/coat health and the immune system. Beta-Carotene has also been linked to lung cancer prevention and cardiovascular disease. Pumpkin is naturally high in fibre, and has a high level of pytosterol which can help lower ‘bad cholesterol.’

Pumpkin seeds are high in Tryptophan which is an important amino acid involved in serotonin production in the brain, which can help improve mood. A high potassium level also helps muscles keep a steady electrolyte balance.

These are required to help support bone growth and maintenance, as well as being linked to lowering cholesterol, improving digestion and boosting the immune system.
